Accommodation Review – Norfolk County Schools
At the September 27, 2016 Meeting of the Board, the trustees of the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board (BHNCDSB) approved a motion for an Accommodation Review of the following Norfolk County schools:
- Our Lady of La Salette School, La Salette
- St. Bernard of Clairvaux School, Waterford
- St. Frances Cabrini School, Delhi
Accommodation review decisions might lead to consolidation of schools, closures or major relocations and always take into account the needs of all students at each school. The Ministry of Education provides direction to school boards about accommodation reviews and we would like to encourage parents, staff and community members to participate, either as a member of the Accommodation Review Committee or by attending the scheduled meetings, to engage in the review and in discussion
Establishment of Accommodation Review Committee (ARC)
As per the Board’s Pupil Accommodation Review Policy and Administrative Procedures #400.16, an Accommodation Review Committee (ARC) must be established to study, report and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees on the accommodation options respecting the above-mentioned schools. The ARC will lead a public review and act in an advisory role in the completion of its mandate. Composition of the ARC will consist of the following persons:
- One parent / guardian representative from each of the schools under review, chosen by their respective Catholic School Advisory Council.
- One teaching representative from each school under review.
- One community member with no child / ward currently attending a BHNCDSB school.
Please notify your Catholic School Advisory Council President, before Monday, October 3, 2016, should you wish to be considered as the parent representative for your school on the Board’s ARC Committee.
